About
Who We Are
Mayfair-Plymouth Church is a multi-generational family of faith. We seek to help people find a relationship with Jesus Christ, grow in that relationship, and express faith in Him through a changed life that He uses to change the world around us.
Our Two Styles of Worship
Traditional worship includes the singing of hymns, usually accompanied by organ, piano and choir.
Contemporary worship utilizes more recently composed contemporary music and is accompanied with keyboard, guitars, drums and a praise team.
Our Story
Mayfair-Plymouth has been a presence in the Toledo area since the late 1800's. Our roots as Congregationalists go back to the Pilgrims, the people of faith who came over on the Mayflower. Mayfair-Plymouth Congregational Church was formed with the merger of Plymouth and Mayfair churches on November 15, 1970. The church as we know it today is in years a young church, but we have a heritage that goes back over a century ago on one side, and on the other we have the courage of a small group that created a new congregation shortly after World War II. This group saw the need for establishing a church in its current location due to the rapid population growth. After the deaths of the two pastors at Plymouth Church, and with the growing congregation at Mayfair, the merger of the two churches was the logical next step.
A Congregational church is independent of control by any denominational rule. We have boards with specific responsibilities regarding the functioning of the church, but major decisions must be approved by the congregation. We seek to be Christ-centered, biblical, and outwardly focused through evangelism, missions, and addressing the needs of our community.
