Mayfair-Plymouth Feed Our Community Food Pantry

With the current unemployment rate of Toledo being higher than the national average

of 9%, Mayfair-Plymouth Church sees firsthand the need to reach out to families in our own neighborhood. The Food Pantry doesn't stop at offering essential groceries and personal hygeine items to families; we also realize that families have other needs throughout the year that need to be met, such as warm coats, hats, and gloves in the winter.

The food pantry is open to the community on a first come, first serve basis, on the third Saturday of every month from 9 a.m. until noon. Shoppers at the Food Pantry must bring photo I.D. proof of Ohio residency, and a birth certificate or Social Security card is required for EACH person living in the household.

BRAVO (Bennett Reading AdVenture Outreach)

Partnering with Bennett Venture Academy, Mayfair-Plymouth Church offers volunteers an opportunity to engage with students at the nearby charter school, helping them to develop better reading skills that will carry them through life. BRAVO also challenges the congregation of Mayfair-Plymouth to alleviate the out-of-pocket expenses that teachers at Bennett Venture have by donating needed classroom supplies. Some of the items that have been donated are tissues, hand sanitizer, dry-erase markers, and copy paper.

Toledo Gospel Rescue Mission

One of Toledo's local missions to the homeless in our community, the Toledo Gospel Rescue Mission offers daily meals as well as sleeping quarters for men and women living on the streets. Low-income families also benefit from the Mission by receiving food, clothing, and personal hygeine items as needed. Realizing that there's also a spiritual need to be met, the Mission encourages its recipients to attend daily Christian worship services and offers spiritual counseling to those in need, guiding individuals to become self-supporting and to the knowledge of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
